Food Service Team lead by Charlie Neal
The Sandhills Blast and Cast Ministries volunteers generously serve a chicken and pork meal with all the fixings. The annual Blast and Cast event is a full day of adventurous activities, and it is important to Sandhills Blast and Cast Ministries that participants are well fed. People are amazed that such a robust spread is free to all attendees.
The meal that includes barbecue pork, barbecue chicken, coleslaw, boiled potatoes, and hush puppies takes months of planning and purchasing to prepare the meal for 500 people. Charlie Neal, the leader of the food team, feels it is a blessed opportunity for him to serve the community on this day of fellowship and fun. “It pleases me to see everyone eating together and enjoying the day.”
The actual cooking begins on Thursday night as a group of men and women of the Sandhills Blast and Cast Ministries work together. “It is so heartwarming and inspirational to me to see the camaraderie and
love shared during the preparation,” Charlie said.
Ultimately, this day allows us to share the message of Christ and show we care through feeding and sharing with the attendees.
We are always looking for volunteers to helping prepare and serve the meal. Please consider
