Godby Wheelchair Ramp
The Godby family resides near Vass, NC. Polly Godby, the wife, recently suffered a series of strokes rendering her immobile thus, requiring her to use a wheelchair. Their home includes a series of steps at each entry point that did not accommodate a wheelchair. Now home, Mrs. Godby was hoping to go out for a meal with her family for her birthday. The challenge would be how to move Mrs. Godby in and out of the house.
The Godby family are members of New Home Baptist Church. Once members of the Sandhills Blast and Cast Ministries (SB&CM) received word of the need for the Godby family, they researched the information and determined that building a wheelchair ramp required immediate action.
Danny Messer prepared the materials list and designed the ramp. On October 19, 2019, Charlie Neal, Danny Messer, Johnny Smith, James Godby, and Jerry Holder built the wheelchair ramp.
Through the generous support of New Home Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Vass, Danny Messer, Charlie Neal, and Polly’s son James Dean Godby, the family could easily get Mrs. Godby in and out of the house with the new wheelchair ramp. Yes, Poly Godby enjoyed a blessed birthday dinner with her family.
The family is grateful for all who had a part in making this ramp possible and consider it a blessing.
May God Bless all who gave to Sandhills Blast and Cast Ministries, you had a hand in making this blessing possible.
